Edwardsville - Barbara Erickson, age 97, of Edwardsville, IL, passed away at 5:38 p.m. on Monday, August 2, 2021, at Eden Village Care Center in Glen Carbon. Barb was born on May 25, 1924, in Omaha, NE, the daughter of the late Fred & Clara (Olsen) Boien. On August 26, 1945, Barb married her husband Robert C. Erickson. Robert preceded her in death on February 24, 2006. Barb is survived by 2 daughters, Kathryn L. James, of Bunker Hill, IL, and Kim L. Grabill & husband Richard, of Newberg, OR; 1 son Kurt L. Erickson & wife Marie of Edwardsville; 7 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren, & one great-great grandchild. Besides her parents and husband, Barb was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Durham & grandson Michael. Barb worked in the payroll department at Hudson Chemical Company for many years in St. Louis, MO. She also taught Junior High for 2 years in Edwardsville School District #7. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority and Our Lord's Lutheran Church in Maryville, IL. Barb was cremated according to her wishes. Interment will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. A memorial visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home, followed by a 4 p.m. memorial service. Family requests memorials to Our Lord's Lutheran Church in Maryville, Illinois, in care of Weber & Rodney Funeral Home in Edwardsville.
