There is no date of death, but according to Judge Oscar Ogburn Efird's book "The History and Genealogy of the Efird Family", Nathaniel C. Coley, second husband of Solomon Efird's widow Elizabeth Bowers, was buried in the Efird Family Cemetery. He did appear in the 1880 Census for Stanly County, so he died after that date.
