Widowed at 38, she was a devoted mother and "rock" to her four children, always making family her top priority. Affectionately known as "Nina" to her grandchildren, Stella always had a hug, a homemade cake or cookies, and a cold Pepsi for anyone who came through her kitchen door.
Family traditions were most important to her. She loved decorating her home for each holiday, and always made sure her Christmas cookies were prepared well in advance. She was the "heart" of the Barthle Christmas, each year delivering homemade cinnamon rolls to her family on Christmas morning.
Stella enjoyed long memberships in the Florida Cattlemen's Association and the Florida Cattlewomen's Association. Being a part of the Founder's Garden Club brought her much enjoyment for many years. She was a member of the Red Hat Ladies, and a life-long member of St. Anthony's of Padua Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert A. Bartle; son, Bill Barthle; and granddaughter Britney Barthle; She was also predeceased by her three brothers: Edward Storch, Ernest "Buddy" Storch, and Eugene "Sonny" Storch. She is survived by her children, Bob Barthle, Lisa Fagan, and Deb Hamilton, as well as 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Due to the recent resurgence of COVID, a private funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church, with interment at Garden of Memories Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her honor to: St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in San Antonio, FL
