Born in Salem, Ohio on October 15, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Steve and Josephine Bruno Planko.
Barb was a devoted employee of Rhoads Hallmark & Gift in Hummelstown where she worked as a Gift Shop Manager. She was a graduate of East Palestine High School in Ohio.
Barb loved people. She always welcomed you with a smile whenever she saw you, and instantly made you feel welcomed. She loved playing Mahjong with her Monday night Mahjong group, and meeting her friends from Rhoads every Thursday for Breakfast at Bill's Diner. She was a former member of the Red Hat Society.
Barb had an eye for design. She was an excellent decorator and designer. She loved arts and crafts, organizing things, playing cards, and her cooking shows. Barb was quite the traveler, and enjoyed exploring different countries. Her biggest passion was for her children and grandchildren. She loved her family unconditionally.
In addition to her parents, Barb was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Lemley on November 22, 2008.
Barb is survived by her son, Joshua S. Lemley husband of Kim of Hummelstown; her daughter, Sara M. Lemley of Cleona; 6 grandchildren, Colton, Christi, Caralyn, Casey, Collin, and Ryan; and two sisters, Cindy Lansberger and Mary Lou Planko, both of Youngstown, Ohio.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 21, 2021, at 1:00 PM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with The Rev. James W. Smith officiating. Inurnment will be in Arlington Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Friends are invited to visit with the family Saturday at the funeral home from 12 noon until time of the service.
