William E. Cable

William E. Cable, 105 Longmeadow, West Burlington, died after an illness of eight months duration.

A native of Nebraska, Cable was born March 8, 1881, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Cable. In 1915 he was married to Dorothy Hoffman at Donnellson. He was a retired employe of Duke and Lewis Construction company. Cable was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving are three sons and six daughters; Harold Cable, Miami, Fla.; Glen Cable, Stronghurst, Ill.; Richard Cable, West Burlington; Mrs. Verna Remaly, Galesburg, Ill.; Viola Cable, Aurora, Ill.; Mrs. Darlene Lambert, Pella City, Ala., and from Burlington; Mrs. Mildred Hoambrecker, Mrs. Alice Hester, and Mrs. Oressa Bower. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. George Brewer, Burlington; 32 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. A son died previously; as did two brothers and four sisters.
Last rites will be held at the Giles funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
