Beverley J. Wood, 86, retired Parsons real estate broker, died at 6:41 p.m., Saturday, August 7, 2021 at her home.

She was born August 11, 1934, at Ainsworth, Nebraska, to William and Anne (Edwards) Oatman. She grew up there and graduated from Ainsworth High School. In the early 1950's she moved with her family to the Springfield, Missouri area.

On December 10, 1953 she and Robert L. Wood were married at Mount Vernon, Missouri. They made their home in Parsons in April of 1957.

She became a partner with the late Gary Seaton in the Seaton-Wood Agency that later evolved into the Wood-Dulohery Insurance and Real Estate business. She served several terms as president of the Labette County Board of Realtors and several times was named "Realtor of the Year" by her peers. She retired in 2000.
For a number of years she was a marketing agent for an upscale clothing line, an activity that was both hobby and business.
Beverley was a long time active member of the First Presbyterian Church and had been an elder and deacon and worked in various other capacities. She had been a member of the Presbyterian Manor board and was a member of Chapter BS, P.E.O. She loved to cook and entertain and many times hosted office parties in her home. Gardening, traveling and looking for antiques were other hobbies she enjoyed.
Surviving are her husband of nearly 68 years, Robert L.
