Lester E. Black, 86 of Proctorville, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 6, 2021, in St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington, WV.
He was born October 27, 1934, in Proctorville, Ohio son of the late Gordon G. and Pearl M. Earl Black. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Wanda I. Black. He is survived by his spouse, Connie L. Sowards Black; three children, Debbie (Lou) Daniels, Jeff (Tonja) Black and Leigh Ann (David) Robertson all of Proctorville, Ohio; four grandchildren, Adam Niece, Isaac (Kathy) Niece, Holly (Glenn) Dillon and Ethan Black; eight great grandchildren, Levi, Luke, Aleigha, Emilee and Rylee Niece, Stella, Hattie and Gretta Dillon; three brothers, Gary L. Black, Lonnie Black and Chuck (Barbara) Black; two sisters, Lorraine Graham and Janie Duncan; and a host of family and friends who loved him dearly. He will be missed deeply. He attended First Baptist Church of Proctorville and was retired from his job of 49 years at Mountaineer Gas Company. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio with his son Pastor Jeff Black officiating along with Pastor Mike Smith. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, Ohio. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service also at the funeral home.
