Mary Peterson 1922 ~ 2007 Mary Deseret Sargent Peterson, age 85 of Lehi, died Oct. 21, 2007 of causes incident to age.She was born April 7, 1922 in Coalville, Utah to William LeRoy and Lois Hannah Copley Sargent. Married Vere T. Peterson, January 7, 1944 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died Nov. 4, 1980. Mary served in the LDS Church as Ward Relief Society president and secretary, stake Relief Society counselor, as a temple worker in the Provo Temple, and a missionary in the North Carolina, Charlotte Mission. She was a member of the Days of '47 Executive Board and Chairman of the Days of '47 Queen Committee for several years. She served as Vice President of DUP Central Company and Regional President of the PTA for Lehi and Cedar Valley, and she helped many years as a volunteer at the American Fork Hospital. Survivors include two sons and two daughters, Vere LaMont (Vicki) Peterson, Lehi; Alan Blake (Shauna) Peterson, Coalville; MaraDee (J.R) Hansen, Pleasant View, UT; Rebecca Ann (Edwin) Cutler, Highland; 20 grandchildren; 32 great-grand-children; sister, Lynette (Glen) Judd, Ogden. he was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Jim Sargent and two sisters, Lois Roylance and Gay Aimone; granddaughter, Melissa Peterson and great-granddaughter, Breanna Peterson. Funeral services will be held Fri. Oct. 26, 2007 at 1 p.m. in the Lehi East Stake Center chapel, 900 N. 1200 E., Lehi. Friends and family may call at the church Thurs. evening from 6-8 p.m. and also Friday one hour prior to services. Interment, Lehi City Cemetery.
