Roger was born on July 10, 1957, in Weaverville to Roger W. and Mary Adrian. He grew up in Weaverville attending both Weaverville Elementary and Trinity High schools, graduating in 1975. Upon graduating from high school, he joined the U.S. Army which included a tour in Germany. After an honorable discharge he returned to Weaverville where he spent most of his adult life except for a few years in Carmel, Calif.
When Roger and his father worked at the Diggins together, he acquired the nickname of RB to help people differentiate between the two Rogers. This stuck and his friends called him RB for the rest of his life. His sisters, however, always called him Roger Brian.
He spent much of his time behind the bar at the Diggins, but his favorite thing to do was work with his father and the Six PAK Packers. He was a packer and guide taking people into the Trinity Alps on horseback. He was able to share his love of the mountains with hundreds of people, many of whom became good friends.
After retiring from the Packers, he began his own barbecue business and pulled his large barbecue all over California making great food for others. He was especially known for his tri-tip and everyone wanted his deviled egg recipe. His special grand-niece Josie vows to keep his secret recipe alive. He has been teaching her how to prepare the meat and barbecue since she was 3 years old.
He was a proud member of the E Clampus Vitus, Weaverville chapter, and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. He belonged to the local pool league playing for both the Diggins and Tangle Blue. He enjoyed fishing at Trinity Lake whenever he got the chance.
He leaves many friends because once you met Roger, you were his friend. He loved spending time with others over a beer and good conversation.
He leaves his dear wife Jeanie; his sons Morgan Adrian and his partner Ken Graves of Weaverville, Nicholas Adrian and his partner Kelsey Weise of Martinez; his stepson Sean McFadden and his wife Katya; and granddaughters Sienna and Annabelle from Germany. He also leaves his mother Mary Adrian; sisters Karen Fortenberry (Roland), Sharon Braxton, Bettina Blackwell (Bill), and Angela Adrian. In addition, he leaves nieces and nephews who loved him greatly and too many cousins to mention.
He was preceded in death by his father Roger W. Adrian and his daughter Alyssa Adrian.
There will be a celebration of life held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 10, at Lowden Park cook shack. This would have been Roger's 64th birthday.
Tri-tip and chicken will be provided and cooked by the Clampers. We ask that you bring a side dish to share. Bring your favorite drink. All who knew and loved Roger are welcome to come and celebrate Roger's life with friends and family.
