Aaron Neal Gillenwaters, age 63, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Friday, July 30th, 2021. A Graveside funeral will be held on Thursday, August 5th, 2021 at 11 am at Park Hill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd., Columbus, GA. Neal was born on September 16th, 1957 in Munich, Germany; the son of Marvin Clark Gillenwaters, Sr. and Irma Marie Gillenwaters. Neal was raised in Columbus, Georgia and he graduated from Carver High School in 1975. He received a certification in appliance repair and could fix any washer, dryer, and air conditioner units. Neal enjoyed many things in his life including, being an avid Georgia Bull Dog Fan, but his passion was to fish, Neal could sit for hours on the water with a pole in his hand enjoying being outdoors waiting to catch the big one. He loved his family, friends, and fur babies his dog Layla and cat Mindy. He is preceded in death by: his sister, Sheila Gillenwaters. Neal is survived by his Father Marvin Clark Gillenwaters Sr. and Mother Irma Marie Gillenwaters, his son Aaron Neal Gillenwaters Jr., sisters Sylvia Deyo and brother-in-law Shane Deyo, Regina Lynn and brother Marvin Clark Gillenwaters Jr and sister-in-law Melanie Gillenwaters and his best friend Kenny Morton, along with numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews and friends of the family that will cherish his memory. As Neal would say I have "Gone Fishing"
