"Dorothy H. Patterson, 71, rural Caldwell County, Mo., near Lawson in Ray County, died Wednesday at the Liberty Hospital. She was born in Macon, Mo., and lived in Ferrelview in Platte County most of her life until she moved to Caldwell County 11 years ago. Mrs. Patterson was a member of the Ferrelview Christian Church. Her husband, Jim Patterson, died in 1975. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Shirley A. Wright of Holt in Clay County and Mrs. Sharon 'Hoppy' Kincaid of Platte County; two brothers, James Hughes of Parkville and Harold Hughes of Portland, Ore.; a sister, Agnes Acord of Kansas City; and five grand-children. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Hanks Chapel, Smithville; burial in East Slope Cemetery." The Kansas City Times, February 2, 1984
