Leander Bayne Goudelock, 83, died Saturday, March 23, 2002, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Miss. Services were today at the United Funeral Service Chapel in New Albany, Miss. Brother J.B. Hays and Brother James A. Lewis presided. Interment was at the Academy Baptist Church Cemetery. He was born June 19, 1918, in Keownville, Miss., to Stephen Albertus and Lena Cornelia Goudelock. He was a member of the United Methodist and was a farmer. He served in the Navy during World War II. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Lorene Goudelock; his second wife, Geraldine Goudelock; a sister, Addie McBryde; three brothers, Ticer Goudelock, Luke Goudelock and Olof Goudelock. Survivors include four daughters, Sybil Harkness, of Cotton, Plant, Miss., Ann Goudelock of Cotton Plant, Rose Hays, Tutwiler, Miss., and Nell Wilson of Stillwater; one son, Lee Goudelock of Hattiesburg, Miss.; a sister, Sarah Dunnam of Blue Mountain, Miss.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Larry Goudelock, Steve Manning, Wendell Goudelock, Jimmy McBryde, Terry Stanford and Eddie Thurmond. (The Commercial Appeal, March 23, 2002, p. B6).
