Mr. Stephenson, who died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007, at Parkway Medical Center, was born Nov. 22, 1939, in Morgan County to Clyde Stephenson and Christine Stephenson Mitchell. He was a member of Flint Church of Christ. He started at Chemstrand in 1958 as a lab technician and advanced to Monsanto in dyeing and finishing. He was loved by his family and will be missed.
Survivors include his wife, Dean Bridges Stephenson; three daughters, Melissa S. Jansen of Hartselle, Rebecca S. Thornton and husband, Mark, and Jana S. Hill and husband, Danny, both of Decatur; his mother, Christine Mitchell of Decatur; two sisters, Pat Nixon and husband, Ray, and Peggy Wipperman and husband, Carl, both of Decatur; one brother, John Stephenson and wife, Patsy, of Hartselle; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jason Littrell, Bobby Hackett, David Allen Keenum, Ty Keenum, Tyler Thornton and Andrew Hill. Honorary pallbearer will be Blake Littrell.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
