OBITUARY: Michael Dale Hicks
Michael Dale Hicks, 48, died Friday, September 7, 2002, after an extended illness in an Abilene Hospital. Services will be held 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 9th, in the Chapel of Weathersbee Funeral Home with Mickey Early officiating. Burial will follow in Roby Cemetery, under the direction of the Weathersbee Funeral Home.
Mike was born on June 16, 1954 in Rotan, Texas to Yvonne & Nolan Hicks. He attended Rotan schools. He was a Baptist.
Mike was an electrician and worked for National Gypsum Company and Georgia Pacific for 26 years. He loved to hunt, fish and many other activities.
He was preceded in death by a son, David Cody; his mother, Yvonne Hicks; and brother, Nolan B. Hicks, Jr.
He is survived by his father, Nolan B. Hicks, Sr.; son, Lane Hicks; grandson, Colin Weaver Hicks; sister, Joy Stinson all of Rotan; sister, Margaret Davis; nephew, Shawn Davis both of Abilene; nephew, Reggie Stinson of Fort Worth; niece, Lucy Stinson Jones of Hillsboro; and numerous other relatives.
Memorials may be made in memory of Mike's mother, Yvonne Hicks, to Alzheimer's Research/DNA Bank, 1120 15th St., CB- 2802, Augusta, Georgia 30912-2620.
