Weaver, 93, of The Fairways at Brookline Nursing Home, State College, formerly of Millheim, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2006, at The Fairways at Brookline, College Township, State College. Born Dec. 28, 1912, in Rebersburg, he was the son of the late Howard P. Weaver and Flora Best. His wife, Vivian I. Havice, also formerly of Millheim, survives at The Fairways. They were married Dec. 28, 1943, in Fort Bragg, NC. He was the last member of his generation and is survived by his cat, Sandy. He graduated in 1932 from East Penn High School, Millheim. He attended various Army schools and completed a management course at State University of Iowa. He served with the 190th F.A. Battalion and the 657 F.A. Battalion. He served 2 and one-half years in the European Theatre. He retired as a Major from the U.S. Army Reserve. He was a member of Saint Johns United Church of Christ, Millheim; American Legion Post #444, Millheim; Millheim Fire Company; Bellefonte Lodge #268 F&AM; Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Williamsport; Bellefonte PA Lodge #1094 Elks; Millheim Lions Club; and Reserve Officers Association. Funeral Monday, Nov. 27, at Saint Johns United Church of Christ, Millheim, Rev. Faith McCausland officiating. Burial Fairview Cemetery. [Centre Daily]
