Senior Airman Britton Lee Halbert, Air Force C-17 Maintenance Crew Chief assigned to the 735th Air Mobility Squadron at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, passed away suddenly on Friday, July 16th, 2021, in Hawaii. He was 26 years young.

He is survived by his loving wife Kaeli Halbert of Ewa Beach, Hawaii; parents, father Heath Halbert & wife Betty of McKinney, mother Kristy McDill-Ellis & husband Steve of Hagansport, Stephanie Halbert of Sulphur Springs; siblings, Kalen Halbert of McKinney, Hailey Halbert of Anna, Heaton Halbert of Sulphur Springs, Lilly Ann Ellis of Hagansport, Jaycee Halbert-Tice and husband Bradley of Commerce, Ladi Halbert of McKinney, Melanie Jones and husband Ryan of Wichita Falls, Tara "LouLou" Ellis of Texarkana, Ricky Ellis and wife Miranda of Union Grove; honorary brothers, Johnathon "JR" Barker of Coppell, and Blake "Hendy" Henderson of Ewa Beach, Hawaii; grandparents, Jimmy Halbert and wife Nancy of Dike, Ruth Ann Horn and husband David of Sulphur Springs, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, & cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Johnny McDill of Mt. Pleasant.

Britton, who was affectionately known as either "Britt" or "Grady", was born in Mt. Pleasant, Texas on March 14, 1995. He later grew up as part of a large family near Sulphur Bluff, Texas. He graduated from Sulphur Bluff High School in 2013 and later joined the Air Force in 2015. He proudly served in both Alaska and Hawaii throughout the last six years of his life.

Britt was one of the most positive individuals you could come across. No situation seemed to alter his confident outlook on life. His willingness to be open-minded allowed him to befriend many people. Adding his sense of humor on top made it difficult for anyone to deny his presence. His infectious personality and innate ability to relate to others allowed for him to positively impact everyone, even those that may have hardly known him. What was talked about with Britt wasn't near as important as the way he made that person feel. His wonderful and gentle soul will forever remain in our hearts.

A visitation will be held at Bates-Cooper-Sloan Funeral Home on Friday, August 6, 2021, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on August 7, 2021, at Bates-Cooper-Sloan Funeral Home at 10:00 AM.
