Alice I. Stevens,90, of Bluffton, Indiana passed away early Tuesday morning, July 27, 2021, at her residence. She passed with a tear in her eye, for leaving us, and a smile for where she was going.

She was born on March 13, 1931, in Berne, Indiana to Walter and Lenora (Yoss) Schug. She was a graduate of Berne High School class of 1949. She was united in marriage to Charles Stevens June 12, 1971 in Huntington, Indiana.

Alice was a loving mother and wife. She enjoyed having the family over and would roll out the red carpet with a beautiful feast placed in her finest dishes. She had a great love for music and art and was an avid fan of Andre Rieu.

She published a book entitled, "Poetry with Art," which included poems about her beloved children and grandchildren and their unique qualities.

She enjoyed traveling and vacationed several times in Europe. Alice and Charles were avid fans of the University of Michigan football team and worked security prior to the games.

She retired from Sola Basic in Ann Arbor, Michigan as an Office Manager after a stint at
Memcor in Huntington, IN. She was a member of the Christian Reformed Church, in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Survivors include her husband, Charles O. Stevens of Bluffton, Indiana; son, Steven (Nan) Habegger of Mt Juliet, Tennessee; two daughters, Jane (Bob) Summers of Berne, Indiana and Carol (Steve) Counsell of Indianapolis, Indiana; 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents as well as two brothers, Jack and Paul Schug, and one sister, Shirley Sprunger.

Friends and family are invited to a memorial service that will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021. Visitation at 1 pm and her service at 2pm at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Yager-Kirchhofer Chapel in Berne, Indiana. Burial will be at Washtenong Memorial Park in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
