Freeman "Al" Berry, 77, of Springfield died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005, at St. John's Hospice. He was born Aug. 27, 1928, in Murphysboro, the son of Freeman and Sadie Berry. He married Mary C. Graves in 1986.
Mr. Berry worked for the state of Illinois for 23 years and City Water, Light and Power for four years. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of VFW Post 10302.
Survivors: wife, Mary; daughter, Linda of Springfield; two grandsons; sister, Annitta Bell of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Services: Staab Funeral Home, the Rev. Vaughn Beeman officiating. Burial: Camp Butler National Cemetery.
