Lucille was born on October 21, 1911 in Mt. Sterling, the daughter of John and Margaret O' Connor Flynn. She married Gerald F. Ramshaw on September 7, 1946 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Springfield; he preceded her in death on April 30, 1965.
She was a graduate of St. John's Nursing School and was a WWII Army Veteran. She was a former member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Catholic Daughter's of America and was also a Eucharistic Minister. Lucille was last employed with the State of Illinois as a nurse at the State Capitol until her retirement in 1976. She was a member of St. John's Hospital Alumni Association, St. John's Samaritan Association, St. Joseph's Home Coterie, V.F.W. Post #755 and the Women's Overseas Service League. Lucille was a compassionate and friendly lady who enjoyed reading and playing bridge.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and five brothers: George Flynn, Richard Flynn, Edward Flynn, Lewis Flynn and Vincent Flynn.
She is survived by one sister-in-law: Bobbe Flynn of St. Louis, MO and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews including Kathleen Flynn Clark (husband, Dave) of Springfield, Dan (wife, Sallie) Flynn of Sherman and Betty Vetter (husband, Jack) of Springfield.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 7, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Additional Vistitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 8th at St. Joseph's Home, 3306 S. 6th St. Rd., Springfield. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 8th, 2006 at St. Joseph's Home, with Rev. John Nolan officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Mt. Sterling, IL. Committal will be held at 2:00 p.m.
