Obituary of Evelyn Kendall
Evelyn Maxine (Amason) Kendall, 73, of Boyle went to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 28, 2021. A visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Saturday, July 31, 2021, at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland, MS 38732. Celebration of Life Service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 1, 2021, at Cleveland Church of God in Cleveland, MS with interment immediately following at Delta Heights Memorial Garden Cemetery.
Evelyn was born July 5, 1948, in Shaw, MS to W.D. and Lanah Mae Amason. She grew up and graduated from Shaw High School in Shaw, MS. She married James Kendall Sr. on June 30, 1990. Evelyn worked for Baxter's as a line supervisor for 33 years until retiring in 2000. She was an avid member of the Cleveland Church of God. Evelyn enjoyed life, some of her hobbies were hunting, fishing, and cooking. She loved working in her yard taking care of her flower beds and koi fish she would say "This was better than any dose of medicine". Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded by her parents, W.D. and Lanah Mae Amason, daughters, Michele Hopkins and Evelyn Melinda Harvey, niece, Teresa Bouleware; nephew, Jimmy Amason.
Evelyn is survived by her husband, James Kendall Sr.; children, Karen McClain (Rodger) of Cleveland, James Kendall Jr. (Lydia) of Boyle, MS, Jackie Finley (Gerald) of Cleveland, MS, and Joette Holland (Don) of Biloxi, MS; grandchildren, Dr. Brent Roberts of Boyle, MS, Kendall Deel (Ricky) of Madison, MS, Lauren Kendall of Starkville, Kalyn Redwine (Brad) of Cleveland, MS, Shelby Kendall (Dustin) of Brandon, MS, Destiny Livingston (Derick) of Drew, MS and Joely Holland of Biloxi, MS; great grandchildren, Evelyn and Camden Redwine of Cleveland, MS; siblings, Lavelle Amason (Betty) of Winona, MS, Jewel Kirksey (Billy) of Brandon, MS, J.D. Amason (Claire) of Clyde, North Carolina, Jimmy Dale Amason (Nan) of Greenwood, MS, Elizabeth Errington of Brandon, MS Gwen Weeks of Shaw, MS, and Arnold Amason (Barbara) of Mize, MS; and a host of neices and nephews.
