It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of my precious daddy Slim Aurele Girard Lapierre on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 in Boissevain, MB at the age of 87.
Slim was born on Thursday, March 1, 1934, the eldest of three children born to Wilfrid & Helene (Moreau) Lapierre on the family farm near Storthoaks, SK.
Slim will be forever missed by his loving and devoted eldest daughter, Raylene Lapierre & her husband Scott Wolfe of Beaumont, TX; daughters; DaVerne Lapierre of Saskatoon, SK & Michele Saltman (Bill) of Rockyford, AB. The seven granddaughters he adored, Kolette Lehnhoff Sawyer (Blake), Laurele Lehnhoff, Kerissa Wright, Ayrisha & Shyesha Lapierre, Tasia & Ariann Saltman. And his 1st great grandson that he was totally smitten with, eleven month old, Benjamin Sawyer.
Also left to mourn are his sister, Helen Eberle. In-laws that still considered him family, Doreen Werk, Dr. John & Judi Griffin, Ellen Dielmann, Gertrude Scheresky, MaryAnn & Rob Wood, Doris & Earl West, Judi & Ralph Staley. Along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Slim is predeceased by his parents Wilfrid & Helene Lapierre. Brother, Jean Guy Lapierre. In laws, Meinrad Eberle, Albine Lapierre, Wilfred & Eva Werk, Douglas Werk, Sylvia Griffin, Wally Greiner, Ron Werk, & Rudy Dielmann.
Visitation is Saturday, August 21, 2021 from 6:30 - 8:30 pm, at Hall Funeral Services, Redvers, Saskatchewan.
The funeral service for Slim will be held on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at 3:00 pm, at the Golden Age Centre in Redvers, SK; with a luncheon to follow. A private family interment will take place at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Storthoaks, Saskatchewan.
