Oil City Derrick, Monday, Oct 24 1905:
Samuel G. Alexander, 73, died suddenly at the home of his daughter, Mrs. R. M. Delo, Derrick City, McKean County, at 5:30 am Sunday. He was born in Pittsburg November 29, 1832.

He came to Oil City in 1871, locating in Siverly, where he lived more than 20 years. For the past 10 years he lived in Buffalo. He was a machinist by trade and, while here, worked for W. J. Innis at the old Seneca street shops, and for Standard Oil Company at the Imperial refinery. Last summer, he and his wife went from Buffalo to make their home with their daughter, Mrs. Delo. He was a survivor of the Civil War, but not a member of the G. A. R.

He is survived by his widow; four children, J. S. and D. S. Alexander of Franklin, Mrs. Delo, Derrick City, and L. C. Alexander of Siverly.

Notice of time and place of funeral will be given later.

Services in memory of Samuel T. Alexander, who died Sunday at Derrick City, will be held at the home of his son, J. S. Alexander, Buffalo Street, Franklin, at 2 pm today. The body will be brought to Oil City by trolley and interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery.
