Mary Frances (Foster) Stewart Vance

She was the daughter of Walter Clarence "Ped" and Bessie Jane (Burns( Foster and married Knox Lulan Stewart - 09 Aug 1937 - DeKalb Co., Tennessee. After his death, she married Robert Vance. Her obituary follows:

Mary Frances Stewart Vance, 76, a resident of Bagley Drive, Fayetteville, and a retired bookkeeper of 35 years with Blue Ridge Manufacturing, died Wednesday, October 9, 1996 at Lincoln Care Center. A native of Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late W. C. "Ped" and Bessie Jane Burns Foster, and a member of the Fayetteville Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where she was a former elder and Sunday School teacher and member of the Chancel Choir. Mrs. Vance was a member of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Knox Stewart, who died in 1983. Survivors include her husband, Robert Vance, of Fayetteville; two daughters, Janet Lindsay of the Coldwater community, and Kay Pittman of Naples, Florida; four granddaughters, two great-granddaughters, and two great-grandsons. Funeral services were held Saturday morning at Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Hughes officiating. Interment was in Riverview Memorial Gardens.
