Mr. Steven Lonnie Merida, age 46 of Scalf was born in Bell County, KY on October 15, 1974 to the late Lonnie Merida and Jerlene Mills Grubb and departed this life on Friday, July 23, 2021 at his home. He was of the Baptist Faith and enjoyed working on cars, watching Westerns, and time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents Lonnie Merida and Jerlene Grubb; a son: Cory Ryan Merida; a brother: Derrick Merida; Paternal Grandparents: Clint and Axie Merida; and maternal grandparents: Walter and Odie Mills preceded him in death.
He is survived by his children: Steven Anthony Merida of Maynardville, TN and McKinleigh Merida of Barbourville; 2 sisters: Michelle Daniels and husband Melvin of Harrogate, TN, and Crystal Grubb of Barbourville; 5 uncles: Shelby Merida of Lily, KY, Rev. Kenneth Merida and wife Carol of Bimble, Jeff Merida, Randy Merida, and S. T. Merida and wife Cindy all of Flat Lick; and 4 aunts: Linda Sprinkles of Lily, Brenda Grubb Davis of Panama City, FL; Loretta Bargo and husband Tim of Heidrick, and Linda Sue Mills of Barbourville; other relatives and many friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral Services for Mr. Steven Lonnie Merida will be conducted in the Barbourville Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at 3:00 P.M. with Rev. Mike Collins and Rev. Ken Merida officiating. Burial will follow in the Allen Cemetery with cousins and uncles serving as Pallbearers. Barbourville Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
