Carlinville, Jan. 3 - Mrs. Ada E. Nixon, 63, wife of Pearl Nixon, died at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday at Macoupin hospital where she had been a patient for five days.

She had been in failing health the last year and seriously ill since. Dec. 28.

Mrs. Nixon was born April 13, 1887 in Bird township, a daughter of A.H. and Elvira Mayberry Woods.

She spent her entire live in Carlinville vicinity.

On April 14, 1909, she was married to Pearl Nixon in the Methodist parsonage in Carlinville. They lived in Polk township for 11 years before moving to Bird township where they continued to reside. The couple celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary April, 1949/

Mrs. Nixon was a lifelong member of the Methodist church and member of the United church of Chesterfield.

Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, Floyd W., of St. Louis; Kenyon, of Carlinville; and Dale, of St. Louis; two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Pointer, of Carlinville; and Mrs. Dorothy Long, of Alton; and 13 grandchildren.

The body was removed to Heinz funeral home where funeral services were conducted.

Burial was in Mayfield cemetery.
