Elizabeth (Betty) Moehring Chatham was born August 24, 1924, in Big Rapids, Michigan. She passed away in Little Rock, Arkansason July 21, 2021, just shy of her 97th birthday.
She moved to Gillett, Arkansas in 1931. She lived for many years in the state of Washington, but returned to Arkansas in her last years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Chatham, who served with distinction in both World War II and the Korean War. She was also preceded in death by her parents George Moehring (a former pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Gillett) and Anna Strathausen Duderstadt Moehring, who are buried in the Gillett Cemetery. Five sisters Louise Cilley, Selma O'Banion, Frieda Murphy, Herta Keddy, and Hulda Brice; seven brothers Alfred and Hurbert Duderstadt, Erwin, Ted, George, Wally, and Henry Moehring preceded her to heaven.
Betty is survived and loved by her sister Helen Reller of Olympia, Washington as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Arkansas, Washington, Arizona, Kansas, Michigan, and Germany.
Burial will be in Crocketts Bluff Cemetery at a later date. Cremation arrangements by Essex Funeral Home.
