JOHN EARL ABRAMS Jr
John Earl (Wheel) Abrams Jr., 58 husband of Iris Singleton Abrams of Dalzell, died June 17 2004 at Palmetto-Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia.
Born April 2, 1946, in Sumter he was a son of the late John Earl Abrams Sr and Frances Tucker Abrams.
He attended the public schools of Sumter County and was a 1965 graduate of Ebenezer High School. At an early age he accepted Christ as bis personal savior and joined Ebenezer Presbyterian Church where he remained until his death. He was employed by Dupont May Plant until his health failed.
Surviving are four daughters, Deborah (Lament) Burr of Hillside NJ, Janice Abrams, Joyce Abrams and Karen Dinkins, all of Sumter; four sons John Earl (Jeryl) Abrams III, Eric Abrams, Enricho Abrams and Darrin Dinkins, all of Sumter; two brothers, James (Shirley) Abrams and Thomas Abrams; two sisters, Frances A (Herbert) McCall and Marie A (George) Singleton of Sumter; a mother-in-law, Mrs Iris P. Singleton and 14 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church (USA) at 4620 Queen Chapel Road, Dalzell, with the Rev. Dr Lutrelle D. Rainey Sr. eulogist officiating. Assisting will be the Rev. Dr. Ernest Jackson, the Rev Stanley Hayes Sr., the Rev WT Johnson, and evangelist Emma Moore.
Burial will be in Ebenezer Presbyterian Churchyard Cemetery in Dazell.
Pallbearers will be brothers-in-law and cousins. Floral bearers will be sisters-in-law and cousins. The funeral procession will leave at 1:15 pm from the home of Mrs. Iris Singleton Abrams, 2955 Trent St., Dazell.
The family will receive friends at the home of Mrs. Iris Singleton Abrams.
