Charles Edward "Charley" Blunkall was born on September 7, 1871 in Nashville, Tennessee, the son of William P Blunkall (1829-1899) and Susanna "Susie" (Judd) Blunkall (1834-1907).

He was married about 1906 to Bettie Taylor (1873–1960), the daughter of Lewis Taylor (1823–1902) and Caroline "Callie" (Little) Taylor (1835–1902).

A member of Waverly-Belmont Church of Christ, Charley was a carpenter. Living at 1205 Clayton Avenue, he was 71 years old and married when he died at home on November 27, 1941 of acute cirrhosis of the liver.

Survivors included his widow Bettie, daughter Mrs Elwood tanner, sons Charles L Blunkall and Cecil A Blunkall, sisters Mrs W E Bennett, Mrs Sallie Scruggs and Mrs Alonzo Woodroof and brothers G W Blunkall, Robert Blunkall and Henry Blunkall, all of Nashville.

Funeral Services were held on November 29th at Burkitt-Son & Cullum Funeral Home, and burial was in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Nashville.
