Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Gorton Duchesne age 96 of Hebert, LA, will be held 2:00 PM Monday November 19, 2007, from the Welcome Home Baptist Church at Hebert with the Rev. Bill Gueringer officiating. Interment will follow in the Etier Cemetery at Hebert. All services are under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia, LA.
Emma Gorton Duchesne was born on December 3, 1910 at Hebert, LA, and passed from this life on Saturday November 17, 2007 at Citizens Medical Center in Columbia.
She was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Lena Hebert Gorton. She was also preceded in death by her husband Clarence "Son" Duchesne and by three sons Edward Duchesne, Clarence Duchesne, Jr. and Jerome Duchesne, and by her son in law Ellie Oliveaux and her daughter in law Bertha Duchesne.
Survivors include her Daughter Mrs. Frances (Duchesne) Oliveaux of Hebert. Her Brother Mr. Lonnie Gorton of Houma, LA; and her sister Mary Brandon of Calhoun, LA. Her eight grandchildren, Donnie Oliveaux, Donald Oliveaux, Tere Davidson, Vicki Walker, Debbie Norrell, Rose Marie Cobb, Dawn Duchesne, and Penny Cruse; 11 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers: John Creech, Dub Weed, Elvis Branch, Larry Dannehl, Buddy Winstead, & John Steortz.
Honorary pallbearers include: Jim Oliveaux, Bob Lee, Alfred Duchesne, Vernon Duchesne, Buddy Oliveaux, Charles Duncan, and Pete Duncan.
