Thomas Jonce Ferguson, son of the late John Wesley Ferguson and Corinthia Watson, died Friday, June 5 at 8:30 p.m. at his home on Route 1, Knifley, in Adair County after being in ill health for the past several months. He was born in Adair County on November 2, 1871, in what is known as the Dunbar Hill community, where he had made his home. He united in marriage to Nellie Ann Goode Ferguson, June 17 some 50 years ago. Funeral services were held from the Knifley Christian Church in Knifley Sunday, June 7 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. James Prince in charge. Burial was in the Dunbar Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Paul Corbin, James Hutcherson, Wendell Mann, Presley Chelf, and Travis Knifley. Surviving are his wife, and children, Oris Ferguson, Mrs. Opal (Rondal) Spires, and Cleland Ferguson all of Route 1, Knifley; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Two brothers, J. L. and Joe both of Knifley and one sister, Miss Eunice Ferguson, also of Knifley. Two sons died!
in infancy. Four sisters preceded him in death, Mrs. Della Goode, Mrs. Alberta Rigney, Mrs. Anlo White and Mrs. Mintie DeHart and two brothers, George and Henry Ferguson.
