Charles Junior Liscomb
HOXIE -- Charles Junior Liscomb, 70, of Hoxie died Tuesday, Jan. 20 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Walnut Ridge.
Born in Ravenden, he served as mayor of Hoxie in 1965-66 and again in 1999-2000. He also served on the Hoxie City Council. He was a lumber yard manager for Barton Lumber Co. and Hoxie Lumber Co. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Liscomb of the home; one son, Charles Wayne Liscomb of Hoxie; one daughter, Melody Rogers of Hoxie; one brother, Rudolph Liscomb of Hoxie; three sisters, Ruth Liscomb and Betty Liscomb, both of Hoxie and Dorothy Byrd of Jonesboro; and six grandchildren, Gary Wayne Liscomb, Blake Liscomb, Blaine Liscomb, Brianna Liscomb, Colton Rogers and Spencer Decker, all of Hoxie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hamilton Liscomb and Lottie Sudduth Liscomb; one son, Gary Liscomb; one sister; and five half brothers.
Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Free Will Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge with Donald Layne and Steve Trail officiating.
Burial will follow at Lawrence Memorial Cemetery in Walnut Ridge.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Higginbotham Chapel in Walnut Ridge.
