Allen Wayne Motley, of Centerview, MO, a gentle giant of a man who was always very respectful of women, passed away on July 14, 2021. He was 69 years old. Allen was born on February 2, 1952 in Kansas City, Missouri, to Lois and Basil Motley. He graduated from William Chrisman High School in the class of 1970. He then went on to Northwest Missouri State and graduated with his bachelor's degree in 1974 and then earned his MBA at UMKC in 1978. Allen worked for Social Security Administration for 30 years and was office manager in Des Moines, IA. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and loved cats. Allen was a good uncle, who was very generous to his niece and nephew, and he will be deeply missed. He is survived by his brother John and sister-in-law Cindy; nephew, Damon and his wife Lisa and their children Amelia, Ava, and Easton; and niece, Christy Motley. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lois Kathleen Motley; grandmother, Wilma McClain, and grandfather, John McClain.

Cremation is planned, and the family will be having a graveside service to honor Allen on Thursday, July 22, at 10:00 a.m. He will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery in Independence, MO. In his memory, the family suggests donations to be made to Wayside Waifs or to ASPCA.
