Dexter Lynn Meadows, 68, from Bakersfield, CA was born December 29, 1952 and passed away on Wednesday June 30, 2021.
He graduated North High School in '71 where he rode bulls and saddlebroncs. Dexter was a cowboy who lived his life how he wanted it. Dexter loved to ski, fish, horseride, spend time with family and friends telling his stories and jokes. He became a scuba diving instructor, owned a trenching business for 30 years, inventor of several useful items with patents throughout the years including the concrete tools, pole-totes for ski poles and the famous Clip-On Kneepads.
Dexter loved all animals and people. You would notice Dexter by the 10 gallon black cowboy hat or by the sound of his voice. He has been in the newspaper a handful of times and many will miss his charismatic funny and loving character.
Dexter is preceded in death by his parents Ernest Meadows (Bozoo, WV) and Mary (Hobbs) Meadows (Bakersfield), 2 brothers David Meadows, Darryl Meadows and Dexter's loving wife Valerie (Wilcox) Meadows.
Dexter is survived by his twin brother Dennis Meadows and his wife Vikki Meadows, sister Brenda Meadows Wattenbarger, son Brandon Meadows and his wife Crystal Meadows and many grand kids.
Celebration of life will be held on July 24th, National Day of the Cowboy. Email [email protected] if you know Dexter and wish to attend or want to send flowers. Thank you.
