She was BORN 5/31/1896 in Forest Grove Comm. to W.W. & Amanda Jane Currey Kyle. She was a lifelong resident of the Forest Grove Comm., except for the past 6 yrs. when she lived in Giddings. She was a school teacher until 1923. Married to Henry Clarence Spence on 11/29/1923 in Rockdale. Lifelong member of the above church, served as a Sunday School teacher and church secretary. Charter member of the Milam Co. Tomato Club, which later became the 4-H. She was a member of Forest Grove Home Demonstration Club. Preceded in death by her husband, Henry Clarence Spence on 9/17/1969; 3 brothers, O.A. Kyle, Jack Kyle and W.W. (Bill) Kyle; 2 sisters, Mary Hickman and Ruby Grabein; 2 infant brothers; 1 infant sister.
SURVIVORS: 3 sons, Claude and Rodney Spence, both of Forest Grove and Kyle Spence of Giddings; 2 daughters, Ruby Ellen Brown of Rockdale, Roxy Ann Bingham of Austin; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
