Retired Cattleman Dies In Residence

Thomas Jefferson Coggin, 83, retired cattleman, died at his residence, 2715 Montana Street, Tuesday. He had been a resident of El Paso 29 years.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Eula Coggin, El Paso; three sons, D.M. Coggin, Nara Visa, N.M.; O.M. Coggin, Kingman, Arizona and F.T. Coggin, Stockton Calif.; six daughters, Mrs. A.G. Crouch, Douglas, Arizona; Mrs. I.L. McAlister, Ashland, Ky.; Mrs. M.D. Grubb, Stockton, Calif.; Mrs. T.L. McRae, Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. J.T. Smith, Van Nuys, Calif., and Mrs. J.J. Dawson, El Paso; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was a member of the K. O P. Lodge of El Paso. He is also survived by four sisters and one brother. Funeral arrangements were pending with Barry Hagedon Funeral Home.

Thomas Coggin Is Taken By Death

Funeral arrangements were pending today with Barry Hagedon Funeral Home for Thomas Jefferson Coggin, who died at his home yesterday at 2715 Montana street. He was 83 years old.

A retired cattleman, Mr. Coggin had resided in El Paso for the last 29 years.

Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Eula Coggin, El Paso; three sons, D.M. Coggin, Mara [sic] Visa, N.M.; O.M. Coggin, Kingman, Ariz., and F.T. Coggin, Stockton, Cal.; six daughters, Mrs. A.G. Crouch, Douglas, Ariz.; Mrs. I.L. McAlister, Ashland, Ky.; Mrs. M.D. Grubb, Stockton, Cal.; Mrs. T.L. McRae, Los Angeles, Cal.; Mrs. J.T. Smith, Van Nuys, Cal.; and Mrs. J.J. Dawson, El Paso; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Also surviving are four sisters and one brother. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias, of El Paso.
