Born July 28, 1932 in Burlington, she was the daughter of Herman D. and Mabel McDaniel Schwartz. On June 10, 1951 she married Carl "Bob" Bailey in Burlington. He died October 29 1996.
Mrs. Bailey was a homemaker. She also worked for Miller Beauty Supply, was a waitress for Kings Food Host, Napoli Pizza, Elks Club and worked at McKesson Robbins.
She was a graduate of Burlington High School and Burlington Beauty Academy. She was of the Protestant faith.
Survivors include two daughters, Robinette Shanklin of Burlington and Anna Broughton of Gladstone, Illinois; two sons, Dave Bailey of Sperry and Allan Bailey of Danville; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four nephews; and two nieces.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
There will be no visitation.
A private family graveside committal service for Mrs. Bailey will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery at a later date, with Pastor Bill Walkup of First Christian Church officiating.
