McNamara, Barbara Jones, age 88, Richmond Va., passed away peacefully on July 13, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Roland C. "R.C." Jones and Thomas F. McNamara. She is survived by her sons, Roland C. "Bud" Jones, Jr. (Robin) and Robert O. "Bobby" Jones (Carol). She was "Nannie" to five grandchildren, Tripp, Lindsay (Rusty), Hunter (Nikki), Robby (Kellie) and Carter; six great-grandchildren, Dru, Abby, Addison, Ryleigh, Carleigh, and Sawyer. She is also survived by her sister, Shirley Hicks; and several cousins.
Born and raised on her family's Greenfield Farm in Sussex County, Va., Barbara was a strong, independent woman of great Christian faith. She was a natural caregiver and a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Barbara enjoyed a 27-year career at Standard Drug/CVS until retirement. After a brief respite, she enjoyed another 13 years of service at Greenwood Elementary School, where she was affectionately known in the cafeteria as "Nannie Barbara".
Her family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 20, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Bliley's- Staples Mill, 8510 Staples Mill Rd. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 21, at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, 12609 Patterson Ave., Goochland, Va.
