Born in New York. In late 1860s or early 1870s he briefly lived in what is now Stacy, Minnesota. The town was named for him (don't know why yet)- previously it was called Middle Branch. It's reported that he came to Minnesota for his poor health - local rumor says it was a nervous disorder. I don't believe he spent that much time in Minnesota but returned to New York. He became a physican specializing in nervous disorders. His wife's (Mary Tyson Collins) obituary states that he had offices in Philadelphia, New York, and Paris. He died of "paralysis" in his home in Seaford, Sussex, Delaware. He was attended by a physican from Dec 8, 1916 until his death on Jan 16, 1917.
