He is also mentioned in his father's will, dated January 17th, 1809, along with six brothers (Sylvester, Holden, John, Jonathan, Thomas and Lory/Lowry) as well as his deceased sister Elizabeth (Andrew) Pierce. James is also a signatory to the probate paperwork associated with his father's will. Therefore, he was still living at that time (March 13th, 1810).
