Joyce Ann Forbis, age 79, of West Tawakoni, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 20 ,2021. Joyce Ann Diel was born October 7, 1941 in Boonville, Missouri. She was the only child of the late Mr. John Popp and Virginia Diel Popp. Joyce graduated high school in Mount St. Scholastica in Atchison, Kansas, prior to attending Avilla College for her degree in nursing. On February 22, 1964, Joyce married the love of her life, William (Bill) R. Forbis, Jr. In 1985, the Forbis family moved to West Tawakoni. She became a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Terrell. Joyce joined the Tawakoni Civic Club over 30 years ago and was an active member still serving at the time of her departure. Excellent cook, splendid baker, master gardener, talented artist, avid reader, compassionate heart, generous nurturer and provider are words used to describe Joyce. She is loved and will be missed by her devoted husband of 57 years, Bill Forbis of West Tawakoni. She will forever be in the hearts of her family; son Russ Forbis and his wife Robin Forbis of Rockwall; daughters Jean Forbis and Michelle Braden both of Keller; grandchildren, Virginia Benke of Dallas, Sarah Forbis of Arlington, Hannah Braden and Samantha Braden both of Keller.
