Thomas James "T.J." Thiem, 82, of North Platte, passed away July 16, 2021 at his home. He was born on January 1, 1939 to Leonard James and Martha Christine (Henderson) Thiem in Falls City, NE.
T.J. grew up in Kearney and graduated from Kearney High School with the class of 1957. He married Linda Denman in Kearney. To this union four children were born, Mike, Troy, Lori and Mindy. T.J. worked at Sunglow Dairy in McCook and then went to work for R.J. Reynolds and moved to North Platte in 1962. He retired in 1996 at the age of 57 spending time with family and friends.
T.J. married Jaquie Aylor and the couple lived in North Platte. He enjoyed travelling, camping, and riding motorcycles. He was a very supportive father and will be remembered for the fun times at the Lake Maloney Ski Club.
Survivors include four children, Mike Thiem of North Platte, Troy (Marilea) Thiem of Crete, Lori Krause of Clearlake, IA, Mindy (Brian) Kramper of South Sioux City, NE; nine grandchildren, Mathew Thiem, Jennifer Thiem, Tahner (Traci) Thiem, Takota (Chelsea) Thiem, McKehna Thiem, Kevin Orr, Shayla (Christian) Trebel, Chad Bauerly, Danielle Bauerly; eight great grandchildren; sister, Barb Mowery of Kearney; many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Friday July 23, 2021 at St. Patrick's Church with the Rev. Josh Brown as celebrant. Christian Wake Services will be 7:00 p.m. Thursday July 22, 2021 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Burial will be at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from 12-5. Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
