Funeral services for Johnnie Elaine Russell Ables will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 20, 2021, in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe with Pastor Greg Ables and Pastor Lance Otwell officiating. Interment will follow at Beulah Cemetery, Calhoun, Louisiana. Visitation will be held Monday, July 19, 2021, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.

Elaine was born in Calhoun, LA on November 24, 1934. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a dedicated pastor's wife and homemaker. She was an accomplished singer and pianist. Affectionately known as "Nana", she was an incredible cook and baker. After her husband died, Elaine spent most of her time caring for the sick. She was a strong, Spirit-filled believer committed to the local church and the community of faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband Hollis Ables, her father John Walker Russell; her mother Mattie Emory Russell; her step-mother Vera Russell; 7 sisters: Herece McMullen, Grace Barnes, Mary Reppond, Gladys Spurlock, Loraine Otwell, Theresa Bush, and Dorothy Farr; 5 brothers: Herman Murphrey, Jimmy Purdy, George Murphrey, Ray Murphrey, and Bobby Russell; grandchildren Joshua and Jonathon Ables; and great-grandson Rooney Davidson.

Elaine is survived by sons Phil Ables (Tammy) and Jeff Ables (Donna); daughter Holane Davidson (Danny); grandchildren Adrian Ables (Jessica), Amber Ables, Jeremy Davidson (Stephanie), Jordy Davidson (Lindsay), Robin Price (Eli), Chase Ables; great-grandchildren Jonathon Fluitt, Tristen Murphrey, Zoe Murphrey, Luke Ables, Hutson Ables, Kennedy Davidson, Hayden Davidson, Judah Davidson, Otis Davidson, and Ezekiel Price; and a host of nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces.
