Lucy Alma Toney Gibson was born to William J Toney and Arena Cole on June 14, 1861 in Georgia. Her father was killed in the 2nd Battle of Manassas in Virginia in August 1862, when Lucy was only one year old. Sometime in the early 1870's she and her mother travelled with her mother's family to Rusk Co., TX. She married Kent Kane Gibson in Rusk Co., TX. on February 21, 1878. They had 10 children. She died September 13,1934. She was predeceased by her husband, two sons, two daughters. She was survived by four sons and two daughters.
