Charles F. Reed, 88, of Mapleton, Iowa passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at UnityPoint- St. Luke's Hospital, Sioux City, Iowa.

A graveside memorial service will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Mapleton, Iowa with Jack Gibler officiating. A Celebration of Charles' Life will be held 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at the Rush Family Chapel, Onawa, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.

Charles Frederick was born January 10, 1933 in Onawa, Iowa the son of Fred and Evelyn (Lund) Reed.

Charles and Iila Treece were united into marriage August 26, 1951 in Onawa, Iowa.

Charles' business career took him and his family all over the world and the country. Charles was a senior executive with companies like Caterpillar, Fiat-Allis, Volvo North America, and Dover Industries.

Charles enjoyed golf, skiing, playing cards, and spending time in the workshop, repairing, replacing, and bringing new life to all manner of equipment.

Charles was a devoted husband, father, and friend. Charles was a man of conviction and held tight to his values.

Given the opportunity, Charles would surprise you with story upon story, each one more interesting than the other.

Charles' deep voice and his commanding presence will be remembered by all who came to know him. Charles was a one-of-a-kind man and will be missed by many.

Survivors include his wife, Iila A. (Treece) Reed; two sons, Randall (Glenda) Reed and Michael (Lois) Reed; daughter, Rachelle (Frank) Saitta; two granddaughters, Denielle Saitta and Elyse (Javier Garcia) Reed; great-granddaughter, Elena Garcia; three sisters, Mary Jane (Ron) Opland, JoAnne Archibald, and Marlene Richardson; one brother, John (June) Reed; and many cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Evelyn (Lund) Reed.

In lieu of flowers, Charles' Family asks for memorials to be directed to the First Christian Church, 722 15th Street, Onawa, Iowa, 51040.
