She was married to George Bowden in 1853. To them six children were born – three sons and three daughters. The father, one son and two daughters preceded her to their heavenly place of abode. She was converted when twelve years of age and was a consistent member of the M. E. church up to the death angel's call. While her illness was less than two weeks it was of the most severe and painful character. Her end was most peaceful and her departure triumphant.
Some years ago she came to Wayne county from Ohio, and left about twenty years ago for Iowa where she made her home for a time but finally decided to go back to Ohio, from whence she came back to this county a little over two years ago. She leaves to mourn their loss two sons, one daughter, two brothers and one sister. Services were held at the M. E. church by Rev P. A. Smith. Internment in the Johnsonville cemetery.
