Pauline Theresa Schauerhammer was born in Saxony, Germany, October 8, 1858. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church. She was married to Richard Otto with whom she came to America, arriving at Howells, Neb., in 1896.
They made their home there for ten years. On March 1, 1906, they moved to Boone county to a farm seven miles west of Albion where she resided until her death. Her husband departed this life February 6, 1914, and was laid to rest in the Dennison cemetery. Since that time Mrs. Otto has lived with her son, Alfred, on the home place.
Mrs. Otto died quietly Sunday, December 6, at the age of 84 years, one month and 28 days.
She is survived by her son, Alfred; and two daughters, Hedwig, Mrs. Herman Brauner, of Creston, and Olga, Mrs. G. D. Oltman, of David City.
Funeral services were held at the Zion Lutheran church Tuesday afternoon, in charge of Rev. Beckmann. Interment was made at the Dennison cemetery.
