Dave Gentry was the son of Manson & Margaret (Strock) Gentry. He was unmarried and had worked as a laborer. He died at a local nursing home, 2302 Pennsylvania Avenue, where he had lived for the past 6 months. He died as a result of facial cancer, of which he had been afflicted with for 2 years. Dave was the brother of Earl, Ethel, Madeline, & Gladys, and he had lived in Joplin for 20 years. In the past, Dave had used the aliases Charles Williams & Jack Robinson.
