Cora Fowler Chambers, 83, of Garland died Dec. 6. Funeral services were held Dec. 8 at Evant Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Boyd Chambers officiating. Burial was in Hillside [Hillsdale] Cemetery. Mrs. Chambers, daughter of the late John Albert Fowler and Calesta Elizabeth Cameron, was born July 31, 1903, in Coryell County. She married Ireland Ira Chambers on Oct. 23. 1920. in Lampasas. He preceded her in death in September of 1971. She was a homemaker and a member of Primitive Baptist Church. She had resided in Garland the past six years. Survivors include two daughters, Inez Verda McCoy of Irving and LaVaughn Hayes of Garland; a son, Durth Chambers of San Antonio; three sisters, Josie Cook of Dublin, Dolly Fetner of San Antonio and Florence Reese' of Goldthwaite; a brother, Leonard Fowler of Hamilton; seven granchildren and seven greatgrandchildren. Pallbearers at the funeral services were Lee Carroll, Grant Bell. B. Daugherty, Thomas Hullum, Don Jones and John Hayes. ~ Gatesville, Texas
