Prolific socio-political blogger, attorney, and friend.

Doug grew up in New Jersey, graduating from Piscataway Township High School in 1986. He went on to complete his undergraduate studies at Rutgers University before attending law school at George Mason University, where he received his J.D. in 1993. He then worked as an associate at the law firms of Busman & Busman and Thomas R. Breeden before putting out his own shingle in 2007.

In addition to his professional endeavors, Doug contributed 16,483 posts to the Outside The Beltway blog alone. He also contributed articles to other sites and was highly active on both Twitter and Facebook for well over a decade.

While Doug identified as a libertarian, he built friendships across the political spectrum, including with those who fundamentally disagreed with him. This is because Doug was a caring person at heart who took pains to see all sides of an issue. When he turned out to be wrong, or he came across evidence that contradicted his beliefs, he admitted it, a rarity in these times. He had a wicked sense of humor, a ready smile, and could always be depended on to be there as a friend.

Doug loved Frank Sinatra and his New York Yankees, and he was also a Star Trek and Doctor Who fan.
