Mary Anderson was born Feb. 16, 1933 in Berniece, Oklahoma, one of nine children to Willard and Bessie (Baker) Collins. She entered into rest on July 10, 2021 following declining health since February at the age of 88. Mary was a lifelong southwest Missouri resident. She graduated from Neosho High School and then furthered her education at St. John's School of Nursing, graduating in 1954 as a registered nurse. She had worked at St. John's and Freeman Hospitals and then as an instructor of the CNA program at Franklin Tech. She enjoyed knitting, embroidery, reading and quilting and was an avid Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs Fan. Mary and Jerry W. Anderson were married on June 17, 1955 and he preceded her in death on January 10, 1999. She is survived by three children, Ruth (John Hall) Sperry of Neosho, Carla Anderson of Almeda, California and James Anderson on Neosho; two granddaughters, Torie Sperry and Erika Rodriguez; five great grandsons, Dake Heidekker, Skylar Heidekker, Jerry (Ja) Heidekker, Isaac Rodriguez and Daniel Rodriguez; one great great grandson, Grayson Heidekker and one sister, Faye Chandler of Vail, Oregon. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Michael Anderson and siblings, Lawrence, Roscoe, Lester, Nadine, Lucille, Norma and Ruth. Graveside services will be held at 10 am Thursday, July 15, 2021 at 10 am at Peace Valley Cemetery in Anderson, Missouri. Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho on Wednesday from 9 am to 5 pm.
